Feel Better Soon Flowers

Good Morning!
I hope everyone is waking up as refreshed as I am. I have a fun post to bring you all this morning, one that I really love. This Get Well card is from the most recent Assortment Pack we are putting together here at HNInk! It is bright and cheery enough to make anyone's day, but seems perfectly perky for that friend who might be feeling under the weather. There is nothing a few flowers can't fix, and it helps that the colors are so vibrant! I love that there is lots of white space, something I am quickly swooning for. I am always thinking about white space when brainstorming now! We thought this would be a perfect example of our style here at HNI and that is why we wanted to enter it in Wee Memories Challenge 59 Free For All! I usually don't enter these very often because I am a super sucker for getting inspiration from something and going from there, but I really love how this card turned out. It is based on this card by Latisha Yost.
Thanks for stopping in today! See you all back here tomorrow!!

Happy Friday!

Hello All,
I hope you are having a wonderful day. I have spent a WEEK now buried in the craft room, and although I love it, it can get to be a little much! Although, when I look at the cards I have made over this week, I am truly proud of myself! I made a pack of 25 NEW DESIGNS for a customer, and then made 2 - 5 card duplicate packs for another customer! It has been a whirl-wind week, but WOW!! It is definitely harder when there isn't someone to bounce your ideas off...let's just say there was plenty of trial and error!

Well, without any more jibber jabber, today I bring you a super adorable get well card AND a CAS new baby card! TWO CARDS!! Oh my! This must be a good day!

First is the Get Well card. This card was inspired by Pattie's cute card here. I LOVE the bicycle, and I had a different one, but it still worked! I also knew I had to add in this super fun ribbon that goes with chevron chic challenge by Moxie Fab! I decided to bust out the water color pencils AND the brushes, and tried my hand at water coloring the flowers and little bits of the bike! I actually got pretty decent in one day, and I will post another of those fun creations later on this weekend!!
Now on to the baby card, which is also adorable and definitely CAS!! I got the sketch here from Waltzing Mouse blogspot! What a great layout, it really is perfect for so many things! I originally wanted to make it a Congratulations card with fireworks instead of flowers, but I don't have a fireworks stamp! lol. So I brainstormed a bit, and I came up with this! Added a couple gems to the sentiment and I think it is fabulous! I love monochromatic colors if you didn't notice already, and I think that the yellow is so perfects for that baby card you just need to have on hand and is not specifically for a boy or girl! It is just so sweet too!!!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!! Oh, and BOTH of these cards will be entered into CAS-ual Friday's challenge for this week, which is Bring On The Bling! I cannot tell you how many cards I added gems to TODAY! It was amazing and liberating all at the same time! Have a GREAT weekend, see you back here tomorrow!

Feeling Fishy??

Howdy from snowy North Texas! My, oh my, have we had some snow, my friends. That big winter weather system dumped more than 6 inches of snow on us in the early morning hours this morning. And I'm now on Day 4 of being housebound. *sarcastic slow clap*

Soooooooo, I've made lemonade out of lemons and have done a little crafting. We're working on some new product packs, and today you're getting a sneak peak one of the Get Well cards that might appear in our new Assortment Pack.

This cute card was inspired by two challenges: a CR84FN Color Challenge calling for turquoise, brown, and red and the 365 Cards challenge calling for a combination of techniques - masking, ribbon, and stickers. A look through our supply of stamps and stickers quickly spawned the theme for this card - under the sea.

I began by tearing a piece of paper, masking the bottom of the card, and spraying the exposed portion with Caribbean Blue Glimmer Mist. I dried the sprayed portion a bit with my heat tool and then took the negative portion of my torn paper, covering the blue portion I just sprayed, and then spritzed the bottom portion of the card with a combination of more Glimmer Mists, starting with Wheatfields, adding Tattered Leather, and then finishing with a light mist of Graphite. I really loved how it turned out - lots of depth and realism to this scene! I shot the card again with my heat tool so I could begin layering the other elements of my card.

We had a perfect supply of stickers to meet the color challenge and to create the underwater scene, and the cute crab came from a stamp set we picked up at Michaels. I popped up the fish and the crab to give some dimension to the scene. I dressed up the crab with a little bowtie to meet the ribbon requirement and gave him some googly eyes to punch up the fun. And I loved the idea of the crab being surrounded by so many fish to really solidify the "Feeling Fishy" sentiment.

With all of this icky weather, let's hope that none of US start "feeling fishy!" *grin*

Stay warm, chickies!!!
